In order to take a walk or even make it outside for that matter, it takes a lot with 2 little ones. Each day that it becomes nicer and nicer out…I get the itch to just pick up the babies and just go!
STOP THAT THOUGHT…one needs a diaper changed. By the time that is done, the other needs a diaper too. Shoot…need to give myBuddy lunch. Meanwhile Pinkie has fallen asleep in her swing…push her lunchtime back now. Finally, both are fed, changed again…now go get their shoes and jackets. WTF did I put THEM? As I climb back up two flights of stairs to the nurseries, I finally find the socks, shoes and jackets. Now myBuddy has seen his jacket and shoes and throws a tantrum because he wants to go “out-died…out-DIED…OUT-DIED!!!” So, I get his socks & shoes on and then do the same for his sister…who has now thrown-up her lunch {damn me for trying the carrots out on her today!} So myBuddy is still tantruming while I now need to find clothes and change Pinkie all over again. Toddlers cannot be reasoned with, so despite the conversation about waiting {which I’m apparently talking to myself to get through all this} he carries on into a full-blown face-down-on-the-floor-kicking episode. Pinkie is finally dressed and ready to go and myBuddy has peeled his little body off the floor.
…are you still with me here…
As I carry Pinkie down the stairs, myBuddy must do the stairs by himself. This is another 15 minutes to get down to the garage {we live in a 3-story townhouse and didn’t imagine we’d still be here when we had children}. Plug Pinkie into the stroller…wait the stroller {the bis-ass double-stroller} is still in the car from yesterday…crap…now what? Set Pinkie down in the family room…WAIT WHERE DID myBuddy GO?!?! He has decided to go back up 3 flights of stairs…oh frig it…”welp, we’re NOT getting outside today kids”…
DEEP BREATH.
Ok, so finally got the stroller out…assembled…and loaded up with the wee ones. We’re going. We’re well on our way around the block…Mommy has to stop for a second to tie my sneaker, which {I have no clue how in all of that?} came untied. This is the look I get…

Now, this doesn’t appear to be the “look of appreciation” one would expect.
Tell me it gets easier…haha…love these kids!
