Move over skinny…I’m coming in!
We’re in the middle of a 90° heatwave here in Pennsyltucky this week. I HATE hot weather. I really would move to Alaska if I could. Isn’t that strange? I know, I know. I grew up at the beach {if you can call the NJ coastline “the beach”}, so I’m supposed to LOVE the sun and the sand yada yada…well, I do – in the wintertime…it’s beautiful THEN.
I think about moving to Alaska every time I see this Sesame Street ditty…you know it…”the Ookyook Song” {actually it’s ukiuq} — but anyway…I want to live there…for real.
Not really sure why I hate the summertime, the sun, the heat…yuck! Maybe it’s all the bugs…out here in Pennsyltucky there are SOOO. MANY. FRIGGIN. BUGS. Ants, wasps, bees…oh I have stories to go along with all of them…and it’s not pretty. And these crane-fly things… they are new to me… and so totally {gag me with a spoon} gross to me.
Maybe it’s my fair skin…I could never get a suntan FOR MY LIFE and now, the little sun I did acquire, has led to skin cancer…lovely…that’s enough there to make me a hater I suppose. I’m currently on treatment number 4 for multiple spots of basal cell carcinoma. It’s ugly, it hurts and it’s ugly.
Maybe it’s the grossness of sweating…this is something that I am also not a {huge} fan of. Sorry honey…there is NO. SUCH. THING. as sexy sweat. Ewwwwww.
Oh then throw sunscreen in there. It’s a wonderful thing, but I can’t stand the smell of it or having to put its greasiness anywhere on me…and now the little ones too. They are certain to rub their eyes immediately after its application…nothing worse than hot, red-eyed, tearing, sweaty, crying, slimy kids. We’re staying indoors until this passes. Then, pack your bags kids…put on your Kammikluuk…we’re moving to Alaska this summer.

I SO felt that pain earlier in the week when it was 88. lol. Then I quickly pulled out the winter coat again when yesterday the high was 46. Good grief.
AHHH! Try living in Tampa, FL! It’s hell. No really, it’s what I imagine hell to feel like.
I have to admit…I love the smell of sunscreen, but DO hate putting it on.
The quarter size hole in my back that was cancer, though, leads me to be a sunscreen Nazi.
Ugh.
The smell isn’t too too bad…it’s the slimy-ness that really gets me…
Its hot here too…but I would MUCH rather be hot than cold!
