New (I’m a sucker) Toddler Shoes – Skechers Boys’ Hot Lights Sneakers

90351_BKSL

Bought the NEW Skechers Boys’ Hot Lights: Damager – Police sneakers for my 2 year old today at Kohls.

So they are most-likely not that great for the environment…as sneaks with batteries surely cannot be recycled.

The lights will probably stop working…if you hear screaming, it’s just my son tantrum-ing when they “uh NO…brok-en!” (as he says)

They were NOT cheap…out of all the things I bought on sale at Kohls today…these were the most expensive on the receipt tape.

They were already returned for a larger size…since upon bringing the first pair home – the size 6 in toddler Sketchers is apparently smaller than his Stride Rite 5 and a halves he was already wearing – we bumped him up to a size 7.

My husband and I fought for a few hours about something-or-other related to buying them…we’re friends again, but “man! over toddler shoes?”

My son doesn’t EVER want to take the darn things off!  We tried 3 times tonight before “tubby time” and he freaked.  Finally tired himself out from all of the jumping in them to make the lights go off.  Again, in the future if you hear screaming, it’s just my son tantrum-ing.

Why did I buy these shoes?

Well…what can possibly be more entertaining to a toddler than squishing a banana between all five fingers and then “painting” with it on the table — why…shoes that light up when you jump, of course!

Why did I buy these shoes?

Because someday he’ll insist on shoes 5 times the price of these.

He won’t run over and hug his mommy after he claps over his new shoes.

He won’t hold out his two little stubby fingers and say “I’mmm two!”

I won’t be able to sneak in his room and watch him soundly asleep, probably dreaming of his “light shoes”.

Why did I buy these shoes?

Gosh, because I’m just a big fat sucker of a mom – I couldn’t resist.

PS – I’ll keep you posted on how long the “headlights” on these sucker-shoes last…

PPS – (as you can also see in the video) Bumbo seats make EXCELLENT stoppers to hold toddler gates open…I’ve run out of space to store stuff, so I’m putting it all to use.

PPPS – Yes, I said “store” (as in not give away) baby stuff, because hubby admitted to me today…there’s a chance of more [yay, babies!] in our future…in a few years.

I just discovered these shoes (not the police ones but another style) tonight at Sketchers outlet by accident!  My 2 year old LOVED them and could not stop running thru the store and jumping.  Thought they were the coolest thing EVER!  They are currently on hold as I also need to pick out a half price pair of shoes due to the sale they are having.  So, as of tomorrow I will also be a sucker too!

Elsa just got a new pair of sneakers from Wal Mart.  Daddy had to get the Disney Fit Cars sneakers for girls.  They are pink and silver, and also have lights in them.  I couldn’t even beleive he was the one making me buy these shoes.  Regardless, at 1 1/2 she loves them.  Too bad she has enormous feet, she wears a size 8 already.
