Ladybugs, spiders, stink bugs, asian beetles, bees and what is THAT!?!?

So if you don’t want to see bugs, don’t read/look at this post and video – it’s icky.

Bugs irk me.

Actually, that’s putting it lightly — I hate bugs to no end.

I have no clue how it started.

Might have been the time (the only time ever!) I was stung by a bee that was sitting on the handle of my big wheels when I was about 4.  That sting hurt so much, I think I cried for days.

Maybe it was all those times my sister just had to put locust shells in my hair when we were young, for fun.  I always screamed like the little girl I was and she’d laugh.

Oh, and then there was the ant invasion in my dorm room in college (Rutgers University Davidson Dorms on the Busch Campus).  There were so many ants crawling in and around my bed for no reason, I had a complete break-down and “moved-out” for like a whole month!  Later I found out my roommate stashed like a bazillion candybars in her desk drawer…uh…sure come on in ants!

Mind you, I come from the Jersey Shore and other than a few flies that appear at the beach on an easterly-wind-kind-of-day, there really aren’t many bugs.

Then we moved to Pennsyltucky (and this is a topic I’ve touched on a few times).

There are bugs out here that even the Good Lord does not know about, I’m sure of it.

This summer it has been bad.

We still have no clue what bit the heck out of Pinkie…or myBuddy a few weeks back.

And now this autumn — EVEN WORSE!  I can’t take it and I kid-you-not, have not left the house in days because of it.

This week there has been swarms of what I thought were ladybugs, only to find out there are actually Asian beetles – yummy.  The spiders here — no less then 3 inches with the leg-span.  Bees…all over – oh and this is the time of year where they will apparently just come and sit on your head.

Then we met this guy and a bunch of his friends this morning.

I’m told it is a kind of stink bug, but I don’t know for sure and I don’t really want to find out.

I try to remain calm with bugs around the iTwins, but it doesn’t always happen.  When they are outside, I’m a little better.  When the bee came into the playroom last month or when the spider ran across our hallway this morning – not. so. calm.

I was all excited last week when it got cold and we had to turn the heat on.  I knew for sure, we’d seen the last of the buggy days of autumn.  But then this week it had to get back up into the 70′s.

Now the crawlies are all over and I’m not going outside until they are gone.

Sorry kids, Mommy is locking the windows, caulking the doors and we’ll go back outside when this bug-a-licious storm passes.

*shivers*

If no one has told you that bug is Leptoglossus Occidentalis or Western Conifer Seed Bug. Lovely little bug comes out in the spring everywhere. Stinks to High Heaven when you smash them. They aren’t harmful to people but man they get everywhere! YUCKO I don’t like them either.

I don’t mind bugs as long as they are not ON me… I just come apart if one touches me.

I have to be friends with bugs because my son loves them and have a bunch on his room including a tarantula! I just hope that they always stay in their cages and boxes.

I am not a bug person at all. I’m pretty much afraid of everything in the bug category, and if I lived where you live, I would be staying indoors too. Those things are HUGE. I sympathize!!!

    *Shudder*

I don’t do bugs.  I scream and jump up and down when I see them…and I don’t care who sees me!  LOL!

Eww for sure!  I try not to freak out about spiders when my girls are around.  Other bugs I can handle pretty well, but spiders. . . .*shudder*.  So anytime my 3 yr old points out a spider to me I try to very calmly. . .get daddy. hahaha.  I just don’t want her to get the strange adversion I have to them, if she can grow up to be rational about spiders, unlike her mommy, then I will have succeeded!  Till then, we’ll trap the spider until daddy can take care of it. . .

    EWWW, EWWW, EWWWWW!!

We’ve had a sudden invasion of spiders. I keep Dust Busting them up but I don’t think that is helping any. My husband told me they crawl back out! Now… He might just be trying to freak me out though (does your husband do this!!!). I don’t care though my temporary solution works fine for me.

Shivering for you.  How dare bugs even attempt to enter our house, let alone hang out on the outside of one!

At least he was outside!!  There was a HUGE grasshopper sitting on my garage door….ALL DAY.  He wouldn’t leave.  I couldn’t go out to my car.

Ugh!  we have lady bugs and then these black little bugs that are so strange.  They fly really slow and are just mushy when you squish them (sorry if too much info).  Someone told me they come up from the sewer pipes.  I want to throw up.

Those stupid beetles are everywhere here, too. Last night I went to bed and there was one on my ceiling.  They seem to have replaced the stinkbugs for me, but *nothing* has replaced the WORST BUG EVER: the cave cricket.  Those b*stards scare the crap out of me, they are like enormous jumping spiders. I hope you don’t have any of those!!
