Had an appointment back at the ENT today for my SSHL (Sudden Sensorineural Hearing Loss). There is no change. I’m still at a complete loss in the left ear and partial hearing in the right.
The only glimmer of hope I had was when they told me that they are seeing that I’m picking up 2 frequencies in my left ear…though it is very low on the scale. There was nothing there last week – so that’s my little piece if positivity from the visit.
My doctor still insists that it is the result of a virus and reaffirmed that ALL of my blood work, tests and scans are reading 100% normal. I have another appointment on the 18th – so that’s all — we wait.
It’s so frustrating living in this huge ringing bubble…going on week 2 now.
My husband actually had to get up with Pinkie last night because she was screaming (teething) and I didn’t find out about it until this morning — how did I sleep through/not hear that??? I’ve ALWAYS been the one to get up with the kids in the middle of the night – so I was sick over this.
I’m dizzy…can’t walk straight and now even being on my computer here is getting to be a little difficult (where it has been a great distraction up until today).
So, we’re just waiting to see what happens.
Then there is my poor Mother-In-Law who had a double knee replacement today. We’re waiting to hear how she made out. You think my husband is a mess or what? He’s had his hands full over here and has been amazing! Thanks sweetie – love you so much.
On a good note — I lost another 2lbs. this week — woohoo! I’m down 12lbs. since starting Weight Watchers 5 weeks ago. It has been a great thing to focus on through all this hearing crap this week. You can read more about it here at my Weight Loss Blog.
And then I’ll leave you with my funny kids.

I may not be able to hear, but these kids do keep me laughing and life, is for sure…still going on around me :)

Hi! I follow my sister’s blog and she had a link to your’s on her site so I clicked and now I’m enthralled. I work for an ENT here in MS and so I see people that are suffering from SNHL everyday. I’m so sorry for what you are going thru! I really pray that your recovery is very speedy! Your children are GORGEOUS!
We’re all still praying for you over here, and you can add my parents and my sisters to the list, too. We went to the S. of I.C. mass this morning and received for you and Anne’s recoveries. We love you! You will beat this!!!
Love,
Lynne and T. & the kiddies
