If you are a mom-to-be or already have children, you might be on the look-out for a thermometer to have on-hand when your little ones are sick…especially now when we’re smack in the middle of flu season.

Thanks to Walgreens and MomSelect, I received the Walgreens Digital Temple Thermometer to try out on the iTwins.

This Digital Temple Thermometer uses a unique sensor to determine R.A.T.E (Rapid Accurate Temperature Establishment). It rapidly samples the heat flowing from the blood vessels to the skin surface and translates it accurately to the body temperature.

I tried it out on my 1-year-old when she woke up cranky and feeling “warm to the touch” last week.  We have previously used the ear thermometer and she was not a fan of having that put into her ear – I don’t blame her!

This Digital Temple Thermometer is non-invasive and only requires gentle pressure to the temple.

1. Press and release power button to activate
2. Wait for 2 short beeps
3. Place sensor on temple or underarm and read temperature in 6-8 seconds

The thermometer beeps to let you know to begin the scan and then beeps again when it’s finished.  It was quick!

…and guess what…

A :) appeared…meaning…

…no fever!

I like that that it can also be used under the arm as well.  I like to get a reading from the forehead and underarm and average the two for the best reading.
