For the first time in a long time, my husband and I decided not to battle holiday traffic to go to the NJ shore for the 4th of July like we usually do. 

We stayed in PA and spent the VERY HOT weekend with the kiddos…doing things like…watching hot air “baboons”…and making fun of Mommy with the hiccups (after chugging a TOP SHELF MARGARITA from Chili’s… ’cause eating out with toddlers there is simply NO TIME TO SIP! LOL)…

We did make a quick visit to see my cousin and his family here in PA to meet their new baby :)

He’s so cute and totally gave me baby-fever LOL…but then I had to chase 2 toddlers into the car and try to un-glue their wet bathing suits while they ate chocolate popsicles and cried about wanting to go back in the pool but “Mommy I have to pee!” and we just went to the bathroom….phew…nevermind…not yet.

We also spent the weekend…

…eating LOTS of melted ice cream…

…and of course watching fireworks locally at Turtle Creek Golf Course in Limerick, PA…

(totally loved having our new iPhone 4s along for the ride to take all these pics and videos!)

This was the first time they both saw an actual fireworks display.  Our son loved it, but our daughter was so cranky and falling alseep by the time 10pm hit, that she didn’t get to enjoy them as much as he did.

After a little scare with falling firework embers we packed up our stuff and made our way through the crowd as the kids watched the fireworks over our shoulders…we watched the finale from the back of the car so that we could be the first ones out of there when it ended…it was good call.

We definitely missed seeing our friends and family in NJ and felt bad about turning down a few BBQ invites, but we did enjoy our little family time together just the 4 of us :)
