Safety First DVD REVIEW & GIVEAWAY | NEW DVD from Sprout’s Let’s Grow Series

JUST RELEASED from Sprout!
Barney, Thomas & Friends, Bob the Builder, Fireman Sam, Kipper and Angelina Ballerina are back with a brand new DVD from Sprout’s Let’s Grow Series in Safety First.

The NEW Safety First DVD is a safety-themed compilation of your favorite shows hosted by Sean and Chica from Sprout®, the 24-hour preschool channel.

The iTwins Love this DVD!
Since they especially love Barney and Thomas, this is a great DVD to pop in for them when they are asking for their favorites.

I love that they are entertained while also learning important safety lessons like why they need to wear helmets and look both ways before crossing the road :)

They watched it again this morning while they were waking up…

They are at an age where they actually sit still to watch, listen and repeat back to me what they are hear from the DVD.

They were singing “Buckle Up My Seatbelt” all morning after watching the DVD and even telling me “only Mommy uses a knife to cut it up”, so I know that these safety “rules” we practice at home are being reinforced with the Safety First DVD.

The DVD Includes these episodes:

  • Barney: “Home Safe Home”
  • Thomas & Friends: “Thomas and the Runaway Car”
  • Bob the Builder: “Slow Down Scrambler”
  • Fireman Sam: “High Jinx”
  • Kipper: “Skates”
  • and BONUS EPISODE: Angelina Ballerina: “Angelina’s New School”

Another great DVD from the Let’s Grow Series
The “Let’s Grow” series from Lionsgate contains episodes from HIT Entertainment’s library of programs including Barney™, Bob the Builder™, Thomas & Friends™ and many more.

The episodes are woven together by live action segments featuring hosts from Sprout’s original Sunny Side Up Show, along with their puppet friend Chica the Chicken.  Together they introduce the episodes, make crafts and play educational games themed to each DVD release.

We had to have a talk with my daughter about pool safety recently, since it’s summer time and we are around pools.

We have been trying to teach our two year old not to dart away from us regardless of where we may be. We live on a corner within a few feet of not one, but 2 streets. It has not been easy because he is becoming immune to the word “stop” so we are using “Freeze” which seems to work.

Our daughter just started crawling and pulling her self up on everything. We are teaching her … or trying to … to not mess with her daddy’s electronics! She is a little techie and likes to go for wires, controlers, her dads guitars and computer keyboards. We have to tell her No then redirect her! She is a fast learner so it’s doing well. We want to teach her to stay away from them with out needing to put everything out of her reach!

We sing the “buckle up for safety” song!  My mother in law taught it to my 2 year old and she sings it every time we get in the car! Also, my one year old tried to dart out in the street today and got, shall we say, “disciplined”.  He is learning that if you make mommy’s heart race very very fast by running into the street, then your bottom will be sore!

We recently got a book about fire safety that Zoey loves! She has been reciting “stop, drop and roll” and asking about our fire alarms!

I’ve been teaching my 2 year old to always use her manners! It’s awesome when a stranger will come up to you and say that your kiddo is the politest lil girl! Awesome feelings!
